Faculty Assigned to Office, Environmental Resource Management Center
Associate Professor/Loaned Faculty - Biological Sciences Department
De La Salle University-Dasmarinas
As one of her colleagues would say: “De La Salle University-Dasmariñas is the Lasallian campus where nature meets history”, she feels blessed to be part of this University for almost 18 years now.
She is a Biologist by profession. She taught subjects in Biology and Environmental Science for two years as part-time Faculty at the Biological Sciences Department in DLSU-D. At present, she is working full-time for the University’s Environmental Resource Management Center (ERMaC) as a Faculty Assigned to Office, to handle DLSU-D’s solid waste management and other sustainable programs. She was recently appointed as University Pollution Control Officer and Safety Officer.
She is also part of the DLSU-D Research Team actively involved in environmental research such as water quality assessment and solid waste collection efficiency of the selected barangays (villages). Some of her completed research works, in collaboration with colleagues, mentors/advisers and undergraduate students, were presented in national and international conferences as well as published in an Scopus-indexed journals. Moreover, her collaborative research on bioluminescent bacteria as indicator of water quality was featured in a national news network and several news outlets.
At present, she is completing her academic requirements to earn her PhD in De La Salle University-Manila’s Biology Program. Her dissertation topic focuses on the prevalence of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in the human-impacted environment.
